Delhi Pollution 2024: Causes, Effects, and Solutions for Cleaner Air

Today, the Delhi air pollution issue will be heard by the Supreme Court. The hearing will be conducted by a bench consisting of Justices Abhay Oka and A.G. Masih. Regarding the "severe failure" in putting GRAP IV measures into effect, the court asked NCR states to respond on Thursday. Additionally, it asked the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) for recommendations on how to get past GRAP III or GRAP II. The court underlined that the current satellite monitoring, which only covers a few hours of the day, is insufficient and that a system to track stubble-burning episodes throughout the day is required. Additionally, the court stated that it would make a decision about the prohibition of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR.
